yeeeaaaah just spent the last 5 hours vectoring these.
For my independent study we’re (theoretically) rebranding the Maryland Zoo, mostly focusing on wayfinding. These are the first drafts for the icons. The squares are the icons for the wings of the zoo (from top: Polar Bear Watch, African Journey, Maryland Wilderness), and the circles are individual animal exhibitis. Hopefully you can tell what those are, but in case you’re confused: snowy owl, cheetah, otter.
Colors are going to change too, they’re just placeholders at the moment.
so awhile back (I dunno if you guys remember), I uploaded some of these icons. They’re for an independent study we’re doing where we’re (theoretically) redesigning signage for the Maryland Zoo.
There are three branches at the zoo, which we chose to represent by color. Circle logos are for the species exhibits, and the squares were the branch icons.
The original branch icons just had the two animals, but it was brought up that since the branches are different habitats, that should probably be represented in the icon. So I replaced the smaller animal with flora.
Then I didn’t know how to do a face-on image of rhino without it being recognizable, so I made that one a 3/4ths view and it promptly became… everyone’s favorite…. SOOOOO I scrapped the other 5 and made new ones to match the rhino (gonna upload those seperately).
